Contra Costa College Culinary Food and Wine Event
Annual Food and Wine Event hosted by the Culinary Arts Management Department of Contra Costa College to raise funds to send the culinary students to study abroad in Italy with the Marco Polo Institute (www.MarcoPoloInstitute.org). Featuring over fifty local restaurants and wineries, the popular sip and taste gala offers a delicious diversion featuring celebrity chefs, fine wines, artisan chocolates and old fashioned food entertainment including a spirited live auction, a designer cake walk and gourmet mystery bags. Narsai David is known for throwing fabulous dinner parties. But the famous foodie outdoes himself every November, when he puts together a seven-chef, four-course dinner, featuring an all-star lineup of East Bay chefs, to raise money for Contra Costa’s top teachers. This win-win event of food and philanthropy is the Warren W. Eukel Teacher Trust Dinner, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this month. The trust has awarded more than $450,000 to date; eukelteachertrust.org. David has been involved since year one, selecting the menu, providing the wine, and hosting the black-tie-optional affair. This year’s chef lineup includes Sasa’s Sam Castro, Élevé’s Michele Nguyen, Yankee Pier’s Michael Dunn, Prima Ristorante’s Peter Chastain, Artisan Bistro’s John Marquez, Diablo Country Club’s James Santeramo, and Contra Costa College’s Nader Sharkes, whose culinary students create the dinner’s dessert course. Fall into Fashion – Junior League of Oakland – East Bay, Inc. at Eleve Restaurant in Walnut Creek, Walnut Creek, CA

This self-paced, self-guided stroll offers the opportunity to savor amazing food and wine while being joined by the Diablo Ballet dancers. The Gourmet Gallop benefits Diablo Ballet and its PEEK Outreach Program, bringing arts education to 5,000 under-served East Bay elementary school students each year.
