Crossing the Chasm
What is the chasm concept?
The chasm concept is the giant gap that a product needs to fill during its growth cycle for it to become a mass market product.
Why does it matter?
Many new products face difficulties when presented with their first critics and bugs. When starting a new product, it is all about changing customer habits and having them learn new ones which is where the chasm comes into play. The chasm is where customers show their willingness to do what you want or need them to do.
3 Reasons you might be having difficulty crossing the chasm:
1. There is no ecosystem for your product. You must consider and understand your market, audience, and the issues your customers are facing. Are you solving a problem?
2. You are missing the Go-To market expertise. You need to make sure you have a product manager that knows the ins and outs of the go-to market.
3. You are not listening to feedback from customers. It is extremely important to consider feedback from different customers and decide what changes you need to make.
