SEO conferences are huge opportunities for marketing professionals that may only come around once a year. While many see it as a networking opportunity, which it is, the knowledge sharing within these conferences can be invaluable in a time when things are changing fast.
Attending the right conferences can have a large impact on your SEO knowledge and your industry outlook. Not only where your career is headed, but where SEO is, too.
BrightonSEO (United Kingdom)
BrightonSEO is the Coachella of search marketing conferences. Scheduled this year for April 10-11 in The Brighton Centre (UK), this conference has become the face of search marketing.
Like all British business-speak, it began as a conversion in a pub. Today, it’s a global phenomenon that attracts thousands of search marketers twice yearly. The two-day event will have expert-led talks on AI, backlinks, advanced SEO, as well as hands-on training sessions. To round it off, you’ll bump into many familiar faces and begin networking. LEOlytics is a regular sponsor of Brighton SEO.
Ticket options include free ballot tickets, as well as premium packages ranging from £390 to £780+VAT. Pieces will increase after March 27th, however. What’s unique about BrightonSEO is its co-location with Hero Conf, which is dedicated to PPC and paid social advertising.
MozCon (USA)
MozCon is shaking things up this year as it moved its traditional Seattle location to one-day events in London on August 12 and New York on November 6. The strategy behind this is obvious: connect to new digital marketers and market leaders.
MozCon has built its reputation on forward-thinking, actionable sessions. These sessions are single-tracked, covering SEO and branding, meaning you won’t miss out on a thing.
What sets MozCon apart is its rigorous speaker selection process. There is also a slide deck review that ensures exceptionally high-quality presentations. Last year, there were industry leaders like Crystal Carter (Wix), Dr. Pete Meyers (Moz), and Wil Reynolds (Seer Interactive). In-person attendees will receive recordings of presentations to share with their teams, which further extends its business value.
SearchLove (USA & United Kingdom)
SearchLove is a single-track conference spread over two days. It doesn’t have a date, but it’s expected to be in London during October with roughly a £800 price tag.
Few details are yet to be released about the 2025 speakers, but it’s historically hosted by Distilled.Net (a prominent global SEO agency) and has been acquired by Rough Agenda. Rough Agenda is the company behind BrightonSEO, so you know it won’t miss.
They’re expected to feature the world’s leading online marketers as SearchLove explores technical SEO tools, Google algorithms, linkbuilding marketplaces, as well as speculate on upcoming trends.
The event is very much known for its distinctive networking events. It has premium-themed parties and gourmet VIP dinners, allowing guests to mingle in a more formal setting.
SMX Advanced (USA)
SMX Advanced returns on June 11-13, 2025, in Boston. They position themselves as “summer camp for search marketers”, where unique sessions occur and a mix of industry stars and the Search Engine Land team (who set the agenda) are involved.
The Mastermind Sessions are an intimate 10-person roundtable with industry experts like Bruce Clay and Wil Reynolds. As you can imagine, this is a very rich experience with a chance to pick their brains.
All Access Pass has a $1,295 Super Early Bird price tag until March 29, 2025. But, there is also the free Expo+ Pass where you will still receive talks and networking opportunities, along with refreshments.
The conference is designed for advanced practitioners. This means there’s a real emphasis on expert-level training, rather than intermediate talks.
Attending any of these conferences will provide a great learning opportunity. However, choosing wisely is important, as each has a different format, atmosphere, roster, and live sessions.
