Fog Harbor Fish House
Located near Pier 39, the Fog Harbor Fish House is a restaurant that overlooks Pier 41 with a great view of the Bay Bridge and the infamous sea lions that rest on the docs. The restaurant prides itself on being the first restaurant to serve 100% sustainable seafood. In other words, the seafood is locally caught in California and the Department of Fish and Game regulate what the fisherman do out on the bay. With the great view and the locally caught seafood, Fog Harbor is a great place for a family meal in the city.

Hopping over across the bay to Sausalito is The Spinnaker. Up the street from the Sausalito Ferry Terminal, the restaurant is easily available to those traveling by boat or ferry. The Pier 23 Café is another restaurant that is easily accessible by a boat. It is within walking distance to the Port of San Francisco. This café is not exactly pleasing to the eye on the outside, but inside holds some of the best food in the SF Bay. This family owned place has a beautiful outdoors bar patio that overlooks the bay. This hole-in-the-wall hosts live music Thursday-Sunday and emphasizes fresh local food. Its outdoor patio menu consists of local beers, wines, and other cocktails that are sourced from local vendors. While the inside menu has more entrees and gives a larger selection of food. The café is also kid friendly, offering a kid’s menu for the little ones.
Gott’s Roadside
Gott’s Roadside is located inside the San Francisco Ferry Building, which is right next to the Port of San Francisco. Gott’s is a great family friendly restaurant that is open seating style. The menu consists of a variety of option ranging from juicy burgers to delicious fish tacos. They also have a wide selection of wine and beer selected from local breweries and wineries. Gott’s prides itself on selecting its meat and produce from local purveyors across the SF valley. The restaurant serves to all tastes, offering burgers, fries, and milkshakes while also offering a variety of chicken and seafood.
Sam’s Anchor Cafe
Located at the edge of the Tiburon Peninsula in Marin County, is Sam’s Anchor Café. This quaint little restaurant over looks Angel Island, Alcatraz, and the San Francisco skyline. It is easily accessible by boat or ferry as it is just steps away from the Tiburon harbor. Sam’s has been voted the Bay Area’s Best Outdoor Restaurant, giving their customers the best outdoor seating view in the Bay. The menu consists of a variety of seafood entrees and also has a delicious selection from their seafood raw bar. Their selective wine menu consists of wine from local wineries as well as wines from all over the world.
Pier 29 Waterfront Restaurant
Just a couple blocks down from the Alameda Ferry Terminal lies the Pier 29 Waterfront Restaurant. This family friendly place sits beside Ballena Bay giving it a beautiful view of the harbor as well as the San Francisco city skyline. The restaurant consists of unique breakfast, lunch, early bird dinner and dinner menus. The menus have everything you could ask for; ranging from every sandwich one could think of to almost any meat under the sun. They also offer a happy hour menu full of tasty dishes and fun cocktails, available from 3pm-7pm Monday-Friday and 3pm-5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
